Radio Kootwijk | Radio Kootwijk

The former transmission station Radio Kootwijk
is for Dutch perspectives an isolated and
outlying spot. It lies at the heart of an
extended nature area. Since the beginning
of the twenties of the previous century, from
this place messages were sent into the ether.
First, telegrams were dispatched by means
of Morse code indicators, a bit later also
a radio telephony connection came. In the
beginning it was mostly to keep in contact
with the Dutch Indies, later also with other
countries.

It has been an important center of
communication and at the same time it
will always be one of the most isolated
places in the Netherlands.
