Where lies the centre of the world and who
decides where it lies?
Every individual is a central point that’s
always moving.
The Paraplufabriek as centre of the world
where the artists thought about the theme
mobility in the world. The result was a
panoramic map drawn on all walls at
the exhibition site. Nearby and far-away
images were assimilated, projected and
drawn in the right direction of position.
The further the images were from the
Paraplufabriek, the smaller and higher
they were drawn.
A conception list, made by two planners
consisting of one hundred ‘mobility terms’,
formed the condition for each image that we,
the artists, chose to use in the panorama.
We used images that we found on the Internet
and we used photographs made by one of us
at different places in the country each
day during the exhibition as well.
These photographs were emailed
directly to the Paraplufabriek. The person
who remained working in the Paraplufabriek
draw it directly on the wall.
We also used a weblog where people could
follow our process every day, ten days in total.
